MCARB, KILLFILE, HELP! Electric Supermoto, cart, MX and maybe even trails in Alviso?

What do you guys think of the possibility of an electric motor sports park in new land becoming available near Alviso/San Jose?
I actually submitted the idea to the city of San Jose:shocker Their whole theme is "clean tech:nerd" so gas engines would be out:shocker

Imagine a motorsport themed park in the industrial area:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
that'd be great but I'd like to see more electric supermotos other than the Zero S...

what a total pile of crap for $10,000....

if it were about $6000, then it'll be interesting...

What if you could rent one or pay like a go cart session? Maybe the batteries could be smaller if long range is not needed?

Dammit Bobby.
You open yourself up to a LOT of liability having a privately owned track that you rent OHVs for. I think it's a great idea, but I'd be skeptical of being able to make money after insurance takes their fees.

Ya, but I'm trying real hard not to think of the messy details, I just want to ride:ride

The cart places must have insurance and what if the parks dept ran the MX and trails if any? Existing tracks have insurance:x

I'd wait until they sell at least 11 electric motos before opening up a motorsports park dedicated to them. Not hatin', just sayin'. That top line in the financials is the key to any successful business plan.

They would rent bikes because nobody wants to or does own one. How about the electric pocket bikes? I would look like a gorrila on a tricycle if I tried it.

I was hoping the parks dept could run any MX or trails so it would be only $5.

Considering the environmental issues listed on that diagram (owl habitat, wetlands, buffer zone,...) you'll have a hard time with this. It doesn't matter how clean it is, people will freak.

I think this is a great idea. Typically, city projects like this take a number of years to get moving, and even more to be completed. The fact that there aren't very many elec SMs on the road at the moment isn't a very big concern for me to critique your idea at the moment. It would really come down to looking at target completion dates and talking to manufacturers about upcoming releases and target quantities.

Great idea, and thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks! I found out that "shovel ready" is 2015 but there is a possibility that temporary structures could be used until development is ready. :ride

I may have just hit the jackpot of support from a well known moto organization too!!

The only owls are near 237 and the marsh mouse is along the bay. There is a wort plant of some kind right along the highway. The only thing in the land I'm interested in is goats and sludge drying ponds:bigbarf

People will freak but maybe the Clean tech will win over just clean:nerd

Yeah, I am just saying that with all of the environmental considerations given in the master plan (and believe me those owls and the salt marsh harvest mouse are no small issues), you may have a fight with the enviros. Now the fact that you are discussing electric motos may help because the biggest concern would be noise and dust. I'm not saying it would preclude you from doing this. I am merely saying that you better look into these issues first a bit.

I know, there was a VERY dedicated owl guy there. One guy said "you will disturb the horses" I said "what horses, those are goats":p
The dust issue was brought up and the answer is to use the reclaimed water and an automatic sprinkler system.

Well considering I am a biologist, if it comes to be and you need help with the environmental permitting process, let meknow.

Would love to see this happen. Electrics open up a whole new realm of possibilities for dirt/SM riding that is actually convenient to city dwellers...
