E bikes, what do you have and why? Thoughts?

My wife has a Specialized Turbo Vado SL, I have a Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon Evo. These are a blast, what do you ride and why? I also have a Sirrus X5.0, that I shall not part with (non e-bike, of course).

Don't have one, but I kind of want to get something that can do 40 miles round trip above 20mph, and can have pannier attachments for grocery shopping. Once we can all get back to office.

I've got a Trek Cronos CF gravel bike that I fucking love, and a $400 Bike Nashbar Al1 with $1000 worth of upgrades, lol. I manage to get the weight on the Nasbar under 21 pounds but it's still a big fat pig, I love it. I really want another Carbon Fiber bike, just a matter of time.

You might be tempted by this, very cool design and reasonable for a CF bike:

BTW - I love my Juiced bikes Ripcurrent fat tire eBike.

Merely Rhetorical
I have an off-brand MTB from the early 90's that I installed a $120 powered hub wheel and $150 for five 10x2 18650 battery packs (ebay). 25MPH for a little over 20 miles.

I don't own one, but I rode a Specialized Turbo Levo. Lord, what a cool bike. I appreciated the extra weight - it adds a lot of stability and confidence going downhill. And of course it was outfitted with amazing suspension so that helped.

I've always been intrigued by the e- road bikes. The Creo looks good.

The Turbo Vado SL Equipped would fit the bill. I put some Specialized Trigger tires on my wife's; we ride almost exclusively on dirt trails and these tires, along with the Pathfinder Pros on my Creo do surprisingly well in the dirt. We rode Harvey Bear Ranch a few weeks ago, which is all dirt, and we never lost grip.

The carbon fiber Sirrus X5 is an amazing bike.

I just turned 1000 miles on my Trek Powerfly 9.9. It's an amazing bike, highly recommend it to anyone. I put around 2000 miles on a first generation KTM Lycan mid drive before that. I still have that bike and take friends on rides often. I have a spare helmet with Sena setup so we can chit chat the whole way. Tons of fun!

If you're riding anything other than flat ground, I would only get a mid drive bike and not a hub drive. I got an ebike over an analog because of access mostly. In other words, I wouldn't ride to the locations I ride to on an analog bike. It would be way too difficult and also it would take a lot longer. I don't need to workout that hard. Another thing is because it reduces the strain of riding, you can ride more often. I ride it in Briones often. These are pics of my ride a few days ago:

Nice, thanks. Will keep it in mind.
It says it's 2x assit, there is another one, heavier, that is 4x assist. How does that work in practice? Just doubles power you put down through the pedal until some maximum?

e bikes are a blast. I wouldn't make one my only bike but they are damn fun for getting around town quick and running errands. Pull the trigger Ken, you won't regret it.

I have spend some time on one of these and do recommend.

I have two bikes, a Rad Rover for social stuff, errands, commuting, etc and a Canyon Endurace for fitness riding.

I love the Rad, it's been amazing. They make high end ebikes now that are closer to real bikes but they're like 2x-3x the price Mine was like $1500

I don't understand most of this but can somebody tell me what is the deal with the ultra fat tires on some of the eBikes, especially the little rim ones?

I got one because it was the only normal bike they had at the time. I don't understand it myself unless you ride off-road it just ads drag. I replaced the front 4" tire with a 2.5".

I've always wondered this too. Big fat tires like that just seem a waste of energy.

I've always thought they were neat, but not for me. I'd rather just pedal my way around on a lighter bike, or have some real grunt on a proper motorcycle. I do miss the Jump rental bikes in SF with the electric assist pedaling when I realize I need to run across town and want to be able to get through traffic easy.
