I happen on some 36V Li-ion battery packs and am looking for an application for them. Can anyone recommend a decent hub motor kit - for an old school mountain bike?

I checked ebay for e-bike kits and found a local (Fremont distribution) front e-bike wheel. It's a kit that looks like it comes with everything except battery, for ~100 and some shipping. It's the cheapest one on there and they go up to a few hundred bucks.

Thanks :ride

FTR, the guy in freakmont appears to be a surplus dealer and that was the only one.

I bought a 36V 500W front wheel kit from another supplier, again the cheapest one on ebay for ~$140. Slapped it on my mountain bike and it give me ~25 MPH and 8 mile range around town making it do all the work using just one of the 5 packs I bought.

Expectation met for a total $290 investment (plus another $10 for the charger).
