I'm far too cheap to track Scarlett but it's nice to see that it can be done well. It looked like you were passing a lot of those other riders like they were standing still. :thumbup

Not so in B group I'll tell you that much.. Its a completely different world there. Had a nice time following FourT2Infinity around on his Street Fighter in "B"

I need to work on foot position and hanging off the bike a bit more. Right now the bike is still much more capable than I am. Especially on heavy braking and lean angle.

Many of the C guys that day were really new and just getting their track legs not to wobble. All good - we were all there once. I run typically in B, but C was a good place to shake off some cobwebs and get a few site laps in.

You can run THill East in B even on an M900...

If you're the guy I'm thinking of I forgot your name but you were moving along just fine and perfect fit for B group. :thumbup

The B group had a lot of A group riders in there as well which probably made it seem like a fast B group. Seriously though, I never would have guessed that was your first track day, you were doing great!

Same guy, Joe. He was absolutely doing well in B... In fact, probably a better fit in B. :thumbup

Just discovered y'all. Looking forward to hearing about future rides and stuff. Traded in my Honda 919 on a '94 m900 from Motojava a few weeks ago and this is definitely "the one", been commuting in, rain or shine. Alice's beckons.

I just noticed this thread... I have several Monsters including one that was Dirtbag'd in 2014.

Three of my Monsters are currently in "project mode": a genI bike getting 916 engine swap; another genI 900 getting a TerraMonstro conversion; and a genII 750 that is getting various mods including an aluminum sub-frame, 2:1 exhaust, and a 796 SSSA conversion.

In the past I've done all of the frame mods for several FlightCycles Monster builds. I'm happy to provide advise and assistance to anyone considering major chassis modifications.

Here's a picture of the two that are currently running. My (mostly stock) genI 900, and the 750 Dirtbag (stock 916 also pictured).

Any info on the front end on the black one, build thread? I'm assuming built, rode it, and came back in one piece?

Yep.... built it, rode it, came back in one piece, won two trophies at Dirtbag 2014, been in two other shows including 2015 One Moto Show, and rode it some more since then. It isn't perfect (need to re-valve the front shock), but it is very fun to ride. Very comfortable, good power, turns well, stops well, just a bit harsh on very bumpy roads (Stage Road, Pescadero).

Here is a complete build thread...

silencers for '94 900 monster

not sure what kind of silencers i have, but home-morning/evening-workplace warm up in danger of disturbing good relations w/ good neighbors+co workers. Home I dealt with: rolling down to busy intersection where wtf cares, but still, would be interested in keeping it to a nice rumble. Ideas? btw, the ride is outstanding.'94-900monst.jpg
