My name is Laurent, I have been riding for over 30 years. Go to the track a few weekends/year. My brother lives in SF and my sister in SLO, they both ride which will be nice.
Well I introduced myself a few months ago when our move was coming and it is finally here, we will be in Dublin around the 21st of July.
Looking forward to riding with some of you and around these great roads (anything is great compared to Florida)
Just got rid of my FZ09 and ZX6R (track/ street bike), will p/u something else in Cali.
I am a SV freak, I love those Vtwins and have owned a few + 1 SV1000s.

Here is my 2001 SV650 project I just finished, I ride her almost every Sunday for a couple of hundred miles.

Welcome, and beautiful bike. Where did you get those fairings?

Keep in mind you may get in trouble for that plate position and lack of turn signals out here.

Hope to see you around!

Thank you,
You still have your SV?
Fairings are from Poly26 via an English co. that is no longer in service. I will get some stick on signals from Cycle gear after I register it, you can actually see the plate easily from the back but I'll take your word for it, how are they about the exhaust?

My SV is a work in progress. Got it for $750 after some guy let it sit outside for 4 years and I'm trying to turn it into a track bike that is still street legal. Runs like a champ and should ride well once I upgrade the suspension.

Most cops around here are pretty lax on stuff like exhaust and signals and all that. You'll sometimes get them as an add-on ticket if you get pulled over for something else. Your plate doesn't look very visible from the back which might spark getting pulled over on its own.

I'll move it once I get there, sounds like my project, picked her up for $1K from a kid that didn't know crap. Oil leaked, clutch was fried, I mean literally fried, opened her up and all the plates were completely burned. Inside of clutch cover was melted and warped!! I picked up an older used Ohlins, got it rebuilt, added Traxxion internals (springs and emulators). She rails pretty good. C u out there.

Can't see the pics of his bike but, FWIW, I have been riding my SV with minimal rear blinkage and a completely un-visible plate (damn clearance issue with my undertail...) for 2 years in the Dublin area and haven't had a single issue yet. It has been a pleasant surprise but it may just be because I don't ride too crazy. However, as always, YMMV...

Jimmy / haut92, (any relation to Haut de Seine 92 of IDF by any chance ?)

Here are the two pics posted by OP that I just embedded below to this thread << budman :love's it when BARFers embed pics cuz later links to hosted pics on picture sites might die and go to limbo / black holes..... Enjoy !

vvvv Count your blessing and just beware that not all PoPo will let you slide. Just better be safe than sorry. :thumbup vvvv
