Guess I missed it. Watched Their Will Be Blood instead. Light introduction for my son to DDL. He has many questions now, like how come one is allowed to drink someone else's milkshake.

Older article but some good insight into why, IMO, the movie is so good: Kurt Russel.

If you like DDL, cue up The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

Great review! Josie was Dana Delany! Love that woman.

I am definitely going to watch again over the holidays after reading that review. I did not catch nor look for all the details the first time I saw it. I am sure there is no Benjamin Braddock driving east on the upper deck of the Bay Bridge.

I like 'Last of the Mohicans'. Mann and DDL.

My favorite scene is when he's negotiating to take the party to the fort.

What I liked the most about Tombstone was that for the most part, there was no filler nor empty scenes. It went from hard hitting to hard hitting. The endless chasing down cowboys at the end got a bit old, but it was really a riveting movie.

old and slow
The yawner scenes with Kurt and his women could've hit the cutting room floor and the movie still would've been as good.

I used to have the entire movie memorized. Yes, I was a loser, mostly still am.

"Evidently Mr. Ringo is an educated man. Now I really hate him."

The only shame in that movie is the fact Val Kilmer didn't win the best supporting actor Oscar and didn't even garner a nomination. That's how stupid and corrupt the Oscars are.

I will strongly argue for that role as the best Western Gunslinger ever played in a film. Ever.

My brother and I have decided that nearly any movie could be improved by adding Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday

I’ve liked Val Kilmer since I first saw him in a film. If you’re a Val Kilmer fan, check out Felon. I think it’s only available as a paid streamer on Apple TV. Powerful film, and he does a fantastic job in it - very unusual role for him.

Do NOT get the "directors cut". It's obvious why the scenes they added back, were cut.

I think we need a goddamn Kurt Russell thread starting with Soldier.

Look at this handsome AF sonofabitch:

That was an Arnold Schwarzenegger kinda payday for that movie. Got paid a lot of money to be in an amazing physical condition but only say like 100 words of dialog for the whole movie.
