Dream vacation in Italy

I pulled the trigger and bought plane tickets to Italy and a spot in Racing School Europe to ride 3 days at Mugello the week before the Misano GP....and then of course go to the GP!

Firstly, if there’s anyone else here who wants to go ride Mugello or attend the GP, hit me up! Secondly, if anyone’s been to Misano before and has any pointers to pass along, like what tickets to buy, where to go, etc, that would be super helpful.

Awesome.

Sounds like a great adventure.

Even if you don’t find someone to go you will still be surrounded by like minded nutjobs. :ride

Have fun. :thumbup

That's a beautiful part of Toscania, I'm sure you'll be impressed.

My advice about driving or riding in Italia, Make sure you get enough EU small bills/coins to pay the tolls on the Autostrade. When you enter the toll road, Don't Use the lane marked "Telepass". always use the lane with the "outstretched hand" sign or a cash machine.

Italian drivers are only a little more impatient with tourists than we are.

Everything else, you'll figure out.

Looks incredible! 100% on my bucket list but won't make it up there this trip.

It was amazing, but your trip sounds equal or better.

You're going to have an amazing time! Take lots of picture/video so I can experience is vicariously. :ride

If you are going to Misano, Rossi's hometown and Bar are 30 mins away from the track. It's a must do. The Grandstands right before the last corner has a big screen TV and you can see all the action from there.

Ducati Factory and tour is not that far from Misano also. That whole Adriatic Coast area is amazing and a real motorsports mecca.

Mugello is epic, super wide, super smooth, super fast and flowing, no real slow corners on the track. Makes mortals feel slow.

Not as fast as I look.
Go to San Marino. It is special. (Pic below). As stated, Rossi's club house and corporate headquarters are within spitting distance. So just do it.
You can see quite a bit of track from T14, and they are going really slow in 14 so you can snap pics or throw Valentino a kiss. I would seriously consider using a service to buy your tickets. The Europeans buy tickets up, pretty earily.

I have the perfect bike for that! The sixth one down my list below:.

I’m actually thinking of renting a Moto guzzi V7 while I’m there. Feeling like maybe I’m spending too much money already, though....

Have a lot of fun. In 2012 my wife and I flew to Venice and rented a BMW R1150R and used it to tour all over northern Italy and Tuscany in the process we went to the Monza F1 race and the San Marino MotoGP race It was an awesome two weeks.
If you've never been to Italy one of the things that's interesting is how they name their roads their roads change names every few miles at least and they don't give directions like we do. For example if you're in the Bay Area and You asked to go to Sacramento I would point you to i-80 and tell you to stay on a i-80 till you get there.
In Italy they would say something like we'll take the road to Oakland and then when you get to Oakland take the road to Berkeley and then when you get to Berkeley take the road toward Richmond and then when you get to Richmond take the road toward Vacaville and so on and so on... And when you're out driving that's how the roads are labeled take this road to Vacaville take this road to Sacramento take this road to Fresno take this road to whatever.
Have a lot of fun Don't get stressed As my dad used to say if I get lost on a motorcycle too bad it means I get to ride more.
