I get him leaving but where will he go? baby dont hurt me.
You think there will be a seat for him in MotoGP? maybe he will find a team in WSBK? Retire and live life?

After posting I realised that exodus refers to a mass of people leaving and that dovi is a single person so y'all dont need to tell me I fucked up. I know im a trash fire.

IMO...

Aprilia = He takes Ianone’s seat (Probable)

LCR = He takes Crutchlow’s seat (Doubtful)

KTM = He takes Iker’s seat (Doubtful)

Test rider spot (Somewhat probable)

Suzuki expansion seat (In Dreams)

I would love, Love, LOVE to see him on the KTM. They would be smart to do everything in their powers to try to get him a seat.

I think he’s so accustomed to the Ducati’s style that a Suzuki or Yamaha would be a tough transition for him. He’s been on a Ducati GPXX since 2013.

Yeah, during the presser a writer asked him if the Zarco incident made him reconsider 2021.
He said that if he wasn’t racing motorcycles he’d be racing cars and the things he does has inherent danger. Otherwise he’d be at home on his farm or laying around in his bed.
So he closed by saying he’s committed to 2021.

here it is again, edited:

yes, this means Leukonis is off his full-time GP seat, so they keep paying him -

Everything gets re-evaluated by silly season in 6-9 months anyway, correct?....."

Iker probably isn’t too keen on the idea, but for a guy who has failed to finish 4 out of 5 career GP starts it might make sense to KTM.

I can see him at Aprilia as well, particularly since his rift appears to be with Ex-Aprilia dude Gigi D. Nothing better than beating the guy you hate. Just ask Lawson or Rainey. They hated 30 guys at a time!

I would like to see him on the KTM. If he can make that Duc do what it does he could rail on the KTM.

A factory equipped Suzuki satellite team makes sense for Dovi (and/or Lorenzo). Keep him on the grid and let's see if he can help to develop the smoothest machine on the grid.


And the Zarco factory Duc rumor mill is getting ridiculous. Just because Zarco is getting 2 more Ducati years doesn't mean it will be factory or even Pramac. Factory would be stupider than even Ducati can muster. Miller's set, and it would make far too much sense for Pecco to follow him up. But I am talking about Ducati, who have proven over and over they can't get out of their own way. I guess poor decisions should be expected. I expect one of the Pramac seats to be taken by Marini however, but maybe this is all for the silly season thread.

Why would he want to ride a non factory supported honda considering how the bike is going at the moment? He was with Repsol Honda for 3 years previously and they didn't treat him too well as I recall.

I honestly don't know what he will do. I think Aprilia makes some sense but I don't think he has interest in taking a lot of risk to finish in 8th place and if he did it just for the money I think Aprilia doesn't have enough to make it worth it to him.

I'd like to see him on a Suzuki personally but I haven't heard anything about them getting a satellite squad going in 2021. Brivio seems to always acknowledge they want a satellite team but it never seems to be in the cards. Now that they have a championship winning ready bike, maybe now they will get serious about getting a satellite squad.

My fantasy would be if they could convince LCR to drop Honda and run the Suzuki satellite squad maybe with a major a Japanese sponsor.

Any team is free to pay a contracted rider to go away. I don’t know how many teams are willing to eat the contract and the PR that might follow.

I’m also not sure how suited Dovi would be to a Suzuki. He’s been on the point and shoot Ducati since 2013 and I think going to the Suzuki would take a huge adjustment in riding style for a guy with only a few years of production left.

I still think the KTM is the bike best suited to him. Unless they want to pay Iker or Petrucci to go away, it can’t happen.
