You're kidding me, right? There are tons of good condition Ninja 250s for under 2400.

Right, but I see people asking around $2900 or more for a newer model (2006, 2007).

Don't know about the store's reputation, but it just doesn't sound right. Out the door price over there is $2800.

I guess it varies greatly by store (a different one in SF was asking $5000 out the door), but I just thought it was strange this one would have it this cheap.

They did me right the 2 times I was in the shop. I think you'll find they have a pretty good reputation.

let me guess, Golden Gate Cycles?:laughing

Why stuck on '06-'07 models? You realize they are essentially unchanged since the mid 1980's.

They heavily discounted my '03 FZ1 when the '04s came in. This could be for real.

It was Golden Gate!! :laughing

I don't necessarily want a newer model, I was just thinking vehicles tend to depreciate, not get more expensive :p

I know a dumbass that paid like $6K OTD on a Ninja 250.

$2500 before tax, uncrate fee, doc fee is pretty good.

They are probably just blowing them out in anticipation for next year (bold new colors)

If you can get one for $3K OTD, I say did very well.

Mission Motorcycles...those guys are true blues. Old time, long-time enthusiasts, some of the best employees from the best shops in the past. They know their stuff and I would characterize them as keepin' it real in the true BARF tradition, such as there is in this diverse community.

I've bought two bikes from them, and their OTD price was the best I could find after shopping around, actually, for the two models I purchased. You can catch promotional cash-back from the manufacturers, or clearance items, and really save. It all depends on the bike.

Everyone is cool, in the know, low pressure, etc. As their sales manager once put it to me: "If I sell a newb the right bike, that rider will be back to buy many more bikes from me in the future. Maybe even for their kids. If I sell them a literbike, well...."

Props to Mission Motorcycles. Their service department is competent, but overwhelmed, like many dealerships. You might want to go elsewhere for service, but that's not knocking them.

Parts...no worries either. I've even had them send out for bore jobs and what-not, and the pricing and turnaround were good. Some shops can really ream you with surcharges for that stuff.

Edit: in sum, this is for real. Call for the OTD price though. No harm in negotiating either!

Mission Motorcycles have a good rep, and is owned by a cool woman (Wendy Epstein, IIRC). Worth a visit and some negotiating, I'd say.

MMC used to be the shop the Bostrom's dad owned. It was sold about 7-8 years ago.

Stay away from GGC unless you're a sports star, millionare, or other type of personality. There have a lot of - how shall I say this - displeased average joe customers in the area.
