DMV's manufacturer abbreviations?

So it hit me to wonder today how DMV abbreviates the rest of the manufacturer names on titles. Between us, there's a couple of KAWKs, a SUZI, and a HOND in the househould, not counting the cars.

There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason do it, so how do they abbreviate Ducati? or Triumph? :dunno or worse, MV Agusta or Moto Guzzi? :loco

I'm guessing Yamaha would be YAMA, but what about the others?

My Kawasaki says DICK. :twofinger

Actually a Kawi is the only one of the big four I've never owned.

I got the reg renewal for my Tiger in the mail last week. The first thing I notice after opening it was the make listed as "DUCA". :wtf I take a look at my current reg, and it says the same. Model year & VIN are correct. I bought the bike new last year and didn't notice.

This should be fun to fix with DMV. :|
