DMV record regarding LTC?

EDIT: Did the check online, and was clear. Am all setup now!

I'm in a basically shall issue county, and I'm looking at section 2.8 of the ccw application:

"List all traffic violations (moving violations only) and motor vehicle accidents you have had in the last five years."

Date... Violation / Accident... Agency / Citation #...

I'm very certain I don't have anything on my record in the last five years, but two questions:
  1. If I'm wrong, and my last ticket was less than 5 years ago, is this automatic dismissal from approval of the ccw?
  2. Am I expected to request my official record for the DMV, to prove it? (such as doing this: http://dmv.ca.gov/online/dr/welcome.htm)

Thanks in advance.

Methinks they are looking for two things;
1. Are you irresponsible and get in accidents
2. Will you lie on the application

Either will get ya bounced (do not pass Go, do not get fees refunded).

If you're not sure, the safest bet is to pull your DMV record. Beyond that, I don't know what they will do with it one way or another.

Just make sure.......

Just make sure you are 100% truthful on your app or I can guarantee you will be denied even in a "shall issue" country. I had listed 9 or 10 tickets on my app and the only question they had is why I have so many, I simply said I drive around 100,000 miles a year. So 9 or 10 tickets in 500,000 or 600,000 miles is well below average and the investigator understood and agreed. Permit issued with no problem....

My best friend also applied shortly after I did, he "forgot" to list an arrest and release for a Failure to Appear on a traffic ticket 23 years ago and he was denied his LTC permit for the "moral character" provision, which I agree with.

LEO's understand people get tickets.....they are the ones who give them, spend the 5 or 6 bucks at the DMV and get a copy of your 5 year MVR. Be 100% honest and you shouldn't have any issues with your LTC.........
