Different front and back tires

Hello Barf,

I am currently running Dunlop Q3s on my bike and my rear tire is worn out and front is ok. When I was at the track last week, the tire vendor said it is ok to put a GP 211 on the rear and leave the front unchanged. So the question is, is it ok to have two different tires on the front and back?

Cheers!

as long as u only ever ride as fast as the tires allow, ull be fine. of course, thats true of all tires, not just mismatched ones.

shoot at one time i raced w/2 brands simply because no one made a front tire that would be predictable at high temps, & wouldn't go away toward the end of a F1 race on a hot day...

use what you LIKE & TRUST the best; not what everyone else says/uses. Stay on two wheels....:teeth

For a little while I was instructing at track days with a Pirelli Angel GT sport touring tire on the rear and a Pirelli Supercorsa slick on the front of my SV650.
