Difference between 07 & 05 ktm 300 water pump impeller?

So my 05 300exc finally ate the cheesy plastic pump impeller on sunday. Trying g o figure out what I want to do here. Just order a stock one. Wouldn't mind going billet if I can get a cheaper one. Problem is ktm "redesigned" the impeller in 07 but it still looks the same. All the billet ones look the same for $29 up to $100. The one they offer on the slavens website says that it's fits 1997-2016 and of course it's $60. The others I've found that look like the same damn thing are only listed for 07-16 and are half the price. Was the redesigned one just a minor fin change or something? Pump cover looks the same, impeller looks the same, the whole bottom end of a 300 doesn't look like it's changed except for the newer ones getting e-start. Somebody tell me what I want to hear.

One last question. Since all my fins are missing anybody know where they may of ended up. Somewhere in motor? Radiator? TIA

I don't know squat about KTM ' S but I would research the 05 and 07 KTM online parts fiche, to visually compare impellers. If the similar enough then you may need to get creative by trimming the blades or making a bushing where the impeller mounts. Good luck. Not sure where the fins would have gone since without any fins there isn't any water flowing but I would remove the cylinder head and check the ports as well as the thermostat housing.

The fins will be right in front of the smallest passageway in the engine. My guess would be near the thermostat

I have no.idea what ktm changed for your water pump but if the "new" and "old" versions both use the same material for the impeller the design change may have nothing to do with the fluid flow performance rather bearing seals, keeping fluids separate, drive coupling design etc.

You could try thumper talk or advrider too.

Order both and return the one that isn't cool enough?

Thanks guys. I ended up just getting the stock one. It being $6 helped the decision but the deciding factor was the weight. The shaft snd bearings in the water pump are tiny and I wasn't so sure replacing the light plastic impeller with a much heavier billet one would be the best choice. Besides the stock one lasted 11 years. Thanks again.
