any roller hockey rinks nearby? how much was the ice season?

Roller? Yeah, check out the Bladium , they're out at the old Alameda Air Station and were a great outfit when I played there. Of course the last time I played on inlines was long ago when the Bladium was on 3rd street here in SF, it's now been paved over for stadium parking for the Giants. :p

As far as ice seasons go, have a look at this:

Yerba Buena (SF) Adult Hockey

It says $6k for a team for one season (15 game season + playoffs), up to 18 people per team. Doing the math that's about $333 per person for the season. That jives with my memories of it being about $350 per head a few years ago, of course that goes up if you keep the team size small to increase everyone's time on the ice.

Because I'm helpful :p here's another link for the Fremont league:

Fremont Ice-O-Plex Hockey League

They don't list prices (that I found) but they do have contact info if you're interested.

Dang, now I'm all into playing hockey again... :laughing :toothless

Oh, and another bit, most local leagues take individual players on a pick-up basis. You "try out" at the beginning of the year to see which level you belong in (typical A-B-C type formats with C being for newbies and A for ex-college player types), then the teams evaluate and pick players. That way you don't have to muster a whole team in order to get back on the ice.

By the way, GO SHARKS! :teeth
