My son was looking into a rebuild kit for the rear brake on an XR650L. It was cheaper to just buy a new replacement master cylinder. Under thirty bucks and way less work.

I own the bike now and the rear brake works just fine with that master cylinder.

I bought a cylinder off of eBay and was very happy until I dismantled the rear brake assembly to install it. The seller said it would fit my bike. It didn't. Anyway, I installed my old cylinder back and used a new can of fluid. It works like magic now. Go figure.
