Cycle World's naked bike shootout

sorry if I missed it, but, did anyone see the write up in print or on their website of the naked bike story they were doing at Thunderhill in June? They were supposedly doing route 36 afterwards.

I wish most Moto rags gave real reviews, instead of fearing loss of ad revenue or invites to bike launches and pulling punches. I've only come across a few publications that truly review a bike. The only US one that comes to mind is Asphalt and Rubber. Road and Bike out of the UK are pretty good as well.

Also, cycle world's website is atrocious.

Le sad.

Preach. I hate reading these "reviews" and ending feeling like I know even less than before I started. They're so neutral it's ridiculous.

Cycle World reviews suck.

Used to sub to the mag. If I wanted to read spec sheets, I could do it online.

they seem to be fairly critical of the BMW - surprisingly so i would say - but every major publication has been oozing over the Aprilia for something like 5 years and counting now.

I wish they would talk more about reliability - i get they are new bikes but road & track put their cars through extensive wear and tear to talk about long term viability as an example - can't one moto publication do the same?

Countless Aprilia's including my former 14' Tuono have numerous issues - I know it's to be expected with some bikes but it's never a factor in any review. What's the point of owning a great bike if it's constantly shitting the bed?

I wish they were actually honest in reviewing as others have mentioned. Luckily though we live in an area with a high concentration of pretty diverse bikes and people who are friendly enough to talk about owning them.

I've learned more talking to riders at meet up spots like Alices than i have reading any of these puff piece publications.

The UK mags are pretty good. I liked the corny humor in TWO.

I thought it was a great day, it was a free track day , how could you go wrong !!!, It was pretty cool, one of them on the S1000R passed me coming out of turn 15 , lifted the front wheel ALL the way down the front straight at about 140+, set the front end down at turn 1 and disappeared in front of me :hail and the guy from Bell helmets hooked me up with a free dark shield and liner for my Race Star and all it cost me was gas, I think next time they do it they are going to charge for the track day
