Yeah he's obnoxious. But he has some valid points!

I watched the clip, and wonder why it is a highlight reel of the content that he argues is unredeemable. Making a profit off of saying, "this is kiddie porn that never should have been made, much less watched, let me voice outrage while showing you the worst parts", seems hypocritical to me.

I'm not going to watch the film, since I've already caught the highlights, but hope that the clips seen were less exploitive in the context of the film. That or the film dealt with sexualization/exploitation in general, and used children to elicit a response to something that we have been desensitized to, and unconsciously accepting of over time.

Edit: I also was originally drawn to this thread because I have not seen any Cuties at WinCo in the past few months, but have found that Sesame Street branded mandarins are a good substitute/replacement.

That youtuber is fukn weird. Also really obnoxious and kinda skeevy.

I couldn't even watch the clip. He's a perv, he's perving out over teen girls, and he's trying to convince you to do the same thing and hate yourself for it, so that he can profit off of your outrage.

"What are these shots?!" Go to a ballet studio and you see the same "shots" there. It's his sexualization of these girls which is the wrong in the equation.

?

I've watched half the movie so far. I struggle to find it interesting . Netflix's description is correct. It's a movie about young women growing up. from different backgrounds.
It's literally about what they are doing.

As an example of the "controversy", , Kim K is already mentioned. :rolleyes

.. if you haven't watched the movie...

BTW maybe in that case don't, ..it's not for you or any "YouTubers"

Yuk.. I watch some tv.. Because i live in a home with an 84 year old and that's all she does.. But i felt those dance shows with young girls was fucked up. I just got up. And walked away.

I agree that these kids don't experience child hood anymore.

Interesting. Thank you. I would watch it if I hadn't cancelled Netflix a while back.

after watching it, viewers are likely to spend a lot of time thinking about girlhood. The girls they know, the girls they were. The girls they want to raise, the forces that make that difficult. The bubbles we try to keep girls in, when the only people we’re actually protecting are ourselves.

Haven't seen it, but my guess is that, while the people making it say they're simply trying to highlight a negative aspect in our culture, they intentionally showed gratuitous amounts of child sexualization, far more than would be necessary to convey the message, as a means of manufacturing controversy and thus free publicity.

I tried watching it, but could not finish it. I have kids that age [both boys, fortunately] but I found myself watching it through my fingers like horror movies. Never considered myself a prude before. I agree with the message about the oversexualization of girls but I do not know why they had to use girls that young to make the point they were trying to make.
