Interesting, but just an evolution, not a revolution. At least we have the word "Nearly" in there.
Let me talk modern tech from yesterday:
What: S1000RR 2015 with all options.
(In Sport mode, -3 on the Damping all around)
Where: Well known, favorite test corner, newly paved.
Who: I think I'll get some edge action on the rear. (I have about 1-1/2 inch of virgin rubber.)
I will downshift to first for this corner, rarely touch the brake, and gradually accelerate around, heading up hill, and full throttle on exit.
The quickshifter seemed to be working on the BMW, up and down, so I use it to enter this corner. It doesn't want to downshift and then it goes into neutral. BAD. I squeeze the brake firmly, the rear comes up (flops around) and the front is barely controllable. The shifter didn't do it's job, and the ABS didn't do it's job.
I have never had any serious issue on this corner with several different bikes, (except heading a little wide on exit), until the technology FAILED on my new techno-wonder. The crap almost put me on my ass.
Beware the robots.
