Cost to set up a shock?

I have a line on an Ohlins shock for my bike, however it's setup for a 160lb rider and I'm around 200. I can't seem to find much information online, but it sounds like I'd at least need a heavier spring, and probably need to have it re-valved. Anyone have a take on what that would cost? Not sure of the shock remains a good deal after the added cost or not.

Thanks in advance!

an item often overlooked is gear and the assoc weight of it.

Revalve the Ohlins at your weight? Probably not. Different spring? Probably. I did this when I bought a used Ohlins for my M900. It may be annoying to spend the extra money but who says a brand new one would come with the right spring anyways? I suggest you take the shock and go see Dan Kyle in Sand City. I took my rear shock and front forks and it was worth it.

Yeah, what Jim E said. You can probably adjust the clickers for the weight difference, but you will need to respring.

Contact James Siddall, of Super Plush Suspension. He's in the City, so only a few miles from you. elskipador and the gang at the old Subterranean Cycles (SM610, 07Chuck and (I think) mototireguy (formerly supertireguy)) have also recommended him in previous BARF threads. When my bike needed the front end checked, James was willing to take the time to explain things to newbie me and help me understand why my bike acted as it did.

James is a great guy, meticulous in his work habits, and does a super job, plus he's fair in his pricing.
