Contractor recommendation

Stab in the dark but the barf she reaches wide....

Looking for good licensed paint contractor, not just a "B" general but actual painter working in the Central Valley somewhere close enough and/or willing to consider a gig in Fresno. I'm trying to get my folks house ready to sell and it been harder than expected finding a painter.

Gig is full interior paint for 4 bedroom 3 bathroom single family house. The usual: walls, ceilings, and doors, paint over the circa 1971 den paneling bit nothing otherwise out of the ordinary. There is wallpaper that needs to be removed [a few single walls, the whole hallway and kitchen] and walls re-textured although I'm open to some less expensive, less time intensive solution if a reasonable one exists. Start asap.

Have one bid from shady due my [tool] listing agent [don't ask, oy] wants me to use for $5,500 which seems average. Except this dude is not a painter, has had his "B" license for about 15 minutes, no previous paint experience no license classification for paint who i'm pretty sure thinks he can just get 'er done just him and a paint roller :( I already agreed to let him do some incidental repairs he insists he can do the same time he's doing paint. Um, no.

He also refuses to provide a proper written home improvement contract, is already pressing for higher deposit than allowed by law - so what could go wrong? lol Yeah, this is who my listing agent say I should use. On the verge of shit canning both of them.

Just this side of desperate, grateful for any viable leads or introductions.

Thanks!

Ya might try calling a decent paint store in the area, like Benjamin Moore, and ask them if they have a few names of local folks who do decent work and are familiar with contract paperwork.

Yup, done did this too, good advice though and thanks.

I'm looking for help during prime busy time for the trades so that exacerbates the problem.

Some stray interior paint wunderkind with time to kill could stumble in from the universe and see my post.....stranger things have happened in the magic land of barf :laughing
