Congrats to my team mate Nick (Lucky13xx) for doing the deed and pushing that old Suzuki (vintage at that) to a new Top Speed Record!

It's top speed.

A simplified version of the local big events

At Bonneville (salt) it's a timed mile with a mile (or more)run up
At El Mirage (dirt) it's a timed mile from a dead start
At Mojove Mile (tarmac) timed mile from a dead start

Very, very cool! Congrats! So when do you go for the 200mph club? Bonniville is one of many on my bucket list.

My first trip out to the salt was last year on my Hayabusa (also on my bucket list……thank you Burt Monroe via Anthony Hopkins) A highly spiritual experience for any gear head. I just got hooked. Met Papi this year and started running down in the dirt. Spent the events climbing the SCTA license ladder and getting some seat time. As long as I finish this year with my B license (175-199mph) Ill be happy. I did a 174.xxxmph last meet :face palm Over the winter I will start with the heavy mods to chase some bigger numbers and records :dunno next season.

The GS1000 started as a little side project that turned into an obstacle and eventually a huge accomplishment for me. I take a lot of pride in carving out my little piece of Bonneville history on that old muscle bike.:thumbup
