Commercial vs. Consumer Grade HDTV

Perhaps someone can clue me in on the finer details.

From what I was able to gather; commercial-grade displays are made for longevity at the sacrifice of picture/sound quality, and the opposite is true for consumer-grade displays.

Is there anything else to understand between these two?

Fear me!
Not sure how the market is now, but I got the commercial Panasonic plasma, the 42" 9UK back in 2005. Picture quality was equal/better than the commercial version. It has no sound and no tuner (no coax cable connection), but has a VGA input. Zero problems so far.
commercial displays also have BNC connections and typically very few video inputs. The latest Pansonic plasma (TH-50PH30U) has only 1 HDMI input. A moot point if you have an A/V receiver handling the multiple video inputs.
