CityBike 3rd annual Ride Friday Give Back AKA "F#@k Black Friday" ride 11/24/17

Surj

Uneasy Rider
This started out as an off-hand, off-color joke, but we're coming up on our third annual Ride Friday Give Back event, AKA the Fuck Black Friday ride. We raised $700 the first year, $2,150 last year, and I'm hoping this year we can break $3,000. ALL of the money goes to Alameda County CASA, who provide one-on-one advocacy for abused, neglected and abandoned children who are dependents of juvenile court.

Our wonderful sponsors, Cornerstone Coffee and Lanesplitter Pizza will be caffeinating and feeding riders, and giving us places to hang out. We'll start at Cornerstone at 10 AM, hit the road at 11 AM sharp, and enjoy pizza and hang time at Lanesplitter whenever we get there! Huge thanks to Cornerstone and Lanesplitter for supporting this event again, three years in a row. You guys rock!

We’re asking for at least a $20 donation from each rider. Your donation gets you in, caffeinated at the beginning and fed at the end, and a raffle ticket. We'll be selling additional raffle tickets at Lanesplitter—and check out the awesome prizes below!

This was a big hit last year, so we're posting CityBike's world-famous staff photographers along the route again, to shoot the ride as we come by. Donate an extra $20 for access to all the high-res shots, from pre-ride to post-ride and everything in between.

This is a rare opportunity to get good shots of yourself actual riding your motorcycle, instead of the usual crappy shots of your bike parked somewhere. Even better, we're offering a money back guarantee: if you think the photos suck, we'll give that part of your money back and cover that donation ourselves.

No one asked for their money back last year—the photos were awesome and plentiful, and helped us raise more money for the cause.

People always ask about donating without riding, whether because they're out of town, or will be in a turkey coma or whatever. Additional donations are totally welcome—if you're interested in helping out but can't make it out, shoot an email to rfgb2017@citybike.com and we'll figure it out.

We're going to have a kickass raffle this year, thanks to our generous sponsors. We'll be giving away:

SF Moto is generously contributing a huge pile of awesome stuff:
Prize #1: A free set of radial tires valued at up to $450, including any in stock tires from Michelin Pilot Road 4s (a CityBike fave), Michelin Power RS, Pirelli Angel GT's, Pirelli Diablo's, Dunlop Q3 plus, Dunlop Roadsmart lll, and many others. This can also be used for bias-ply tires in sizes 110/70-17 and 130 or 140/70-17’s for Ninja 300s, CBR300s, R3s, Zeros, etc.

Prize #2: Any full-face helmet in stock, up to $200 value.

Prize #3: Any one pair of gloves, in stock, up to $125 value.

Prize #4: Free oil change with Genuine Honda GN4 petroleum oil and oil filter including tax and disposal. Some exclusions will apply with vintage bikes or especially if the oil filter and/or drain plug washer aren't stocking items. If the bike requires synthetic oil, the value of the petroleum oil can be applied, and customer pays the difference.

Aerostich is supporting the rider community as always, with a $250 gift certificate!

Racer Gloves USA is stepping up with a $75 gift certificate good for any pair of regularly priced gloves at RacerUSA.com!

Inked Iron is donating a set of their kickass prints and one of their real-deal sweatshirts, a prize worth one hundred dollars and nearly innumerable cool points.

MotoChic Gear is donating one of their sweet Lauren convertible backpacks, in red, just like the one our own An has taken around the world.

MotoGuild SF is providing two $120 month work passes!

ABUS is donating four of their kickass bike locks!

California Sport Touring is donating a free basic service, good for up to $250, including an oil change, oil filter, lube and adjust chain, lube and adjust cables, check tire pressures, inspect brake system, inspect cooling system, check charging system voltage, and an overall safety operations inspection!

Links and info:
Facebook event page. This is the primary event page, but I'll try to keep this thread updated as well for people who are not on Facebook, or just keep on being a pain in the ass. :twofinger

Pre-registration / waiver here. Fill it out in advance, tell us what kinda of pizza you want, whether you want photos, and you're set. All you have to do is drop your donation off day of the ride—no standing around to sign papers, more time for standing around yakking about carbon fiber or whatever you crazy kids are into today.

Last year's thread and Facebook event page, if you wanna get more background.

Start point: Cornerstone Coffee: 20991 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA 94546
End point: Lanesplitter Pizza: 3645 San Pablo Ave, Emeryville, CA 94608

Stay tuned to this thread (or the FB page linked above) for more details on route, raffle and other things that may or may not start with the letter R.

I sincerely hope you'll join us in skipping the Black Friday idiocy and raising money for a very good cause.

Registered. Never had a pic of me on a bike before, seems like a great opportunity.

Too bad RWR is still closed to through traffic.

What alt are you thinking about for the first leg? I-580 to Golf Links then Skyline?

Cheers.

Nice glamour shot of @cincinnattus on the promo banner.

Sounds like a cool ride, but I'm always out of town. :(
