Eldritch

is insensitive
Dude, I rode into the City yesterday and it was toasty all over, but when I was rolling across the Golden Gate, COMFORT! (Meaning in the 50's) When I got off the water and into the headlands, like hitting a wall of 30+ degrees higher. The contrast was shocking.

Yesterday, left WC in the mid 100s. Got home it was 91.

Today, left WC (in car with thermometer) at 106. Went up to 109 in Lafayette and Orinda. Still hot by SP Dam. 108 in El Sobrante. 106 at my house on the last northern hill of the Berkeley Hills.

Day-yam. I'm melting.......

I'm finding it really hard to make a joke about cold and hipsters hanging out in the mission or Lands End

I drenched myself before leaving work, it was 100+ on the highway thru SF and 113 at home. I'm laying out under a fan now

Yeah, calling BS to that 112-113. That was Antioch weather today, not SF.

Can anyone clever explain this heat wave to me? What combination of factors are driving it?

Extreme high pressure off the coast and the Russians burning their top secret shit before vacating the embassy in SF and aliens.

C'mon..you know this.
This time the wind that usually makes Central SF Bay area cold is not coming from the ocean but coming from inland. So that's one of the factors for the heat wave.

Second the odd temps , two patches of cold, in V4s picture are indeed funny. I suspect that was simply an internet glitch. Yesterday Saturday was still really hot everywhere I went, but the internet temp claimed it was 15 degrees less (I had a thermometer inside and verified)
BTW one of the cold icebergs in the Mission has underground water exactly at that location :)
Or maybe had too many iPhone users in a/c controlled buildings exactly at that location, giving information to Apple :)
