Check engine light came on today ('15 , 2k miles)
Just got home from work, no engine light. Took gf to dinner and noticed the check engine light went on coming up to a stop when the clutch was engaged. Goes off again as the clutch is let out. Engine light also comes on in neutral.

It's not my fault...
If your check engine light came on, there should be a error code associated with it. You may have to retrieve the code starting it up in the diagnostic mode.

Ask around on the FZ09.org forum too. A lot of helpful people there. If you get the code, I have the service manual and can hopefully shed some light.

If not...Warranty is good!!

My FZ6 had a faulty oil level sensor. It would come on and go off randomly, I could never nail it down. I'd check your oil level and then bring it to the dealer.

It has a warranty. Who cares what's wrong with it. They'll fix it.

Wishful thinking? Some of these dealer mechanics I have met leave a lot to be desired. I could tell ya a couple horror stories by it's not my thread...

Check da oil, check the sending unit, check the wiring at BOTH attachment points (might as well clean the connectors while your there...)

Check da voltage that's supposed to be there when engine is running, & not running. Check against a manual....likely find it online....??
