Because they're generally not crappy (yes, I'm serious) and are an ideal fit for exactly what that motorcycle is designed for. They're not sportbikes. Ultimately, they sell which further proves the point that that motor is exactly what the customer wants.

Aren't custom motorcycles more for posing and not so much for riding.
So I guess for that they would be the right engine. Truth to tell I wouldn't mind having a slick black shiny cruiser either.
