CB650R

Haven't really been itching for a new bike in a while, but I really like the looks and the naked 4 of the CBR650r. Anyone get a chance to ride one yet or pick one up? My local dealer has one that I could see thru the window (closed today) and I'm thinkin about going for it... checking for first hand experiences

I have a friend who is a new rider.
She started out on a Grom. About 6 months later she picked up the 650.
Waaaay too much bike for her but that thing would look good in my garage.
Yeah, I've ridden it.
I want one.

How does this compare to the fairing version? I see it has upside forks which the fairing version does not

Edit: I see there is a cbr650f and a cbr650r with fairings so I only have experience with the F model

I only rode the naked which was fun and impressive. I love the compact *chunk of a bike* feeling.
Ordinarily I'm drawn to the fairing-ed version of things but who the hell would want to cover up that beautiful exhaust???

Loosely, they are variations on a theme with the same engine. I don't think I've read a bad word about them all. The 650R has the styling I like best. It's the Neo Sports Cafe theme like my CB1000R, so the USD forks help maintain that styling.

Performance of the CBR is in the ballpark of a 1995 CBR600F, with the nakeds being similar, but tuned slightly differently for less top end.

pretty much every outlet says its a solid bike - i just have a hard time filtering whats just spam or an unbiased review.

I get it.

My take: I own the CB1000R, and it is a great bike, beautifully executed, with great build quality. I don't think it is wrong to expect the CB650R to be similarly good. Plus, it's a Honda. They build great road bikes.

I hope you enjoy the test ride, because I want to see one on the road!!!

Bike is too new to have any deals; I looked at it but instead negotiated a CB1000R for not much more than the 650.

I will ask for a test ride but haven't had much luck getting one on new japanese bikes before - unless it was a ride event

I took one for a spin when Honda had a truck in Laughlin.
Better bike than some of the other cruisers, I put it in the like pile, never owned or wanted a 4 banger.

I never got into pavement as a race surface, and tar snakes put me off of hauling on street.
But yes,
