Ayone have a internal picture of a carb for an 80 motor. Everytime I open my throttle the slider keeps turning causing the motor to rev. Not sure if there was a pin to keep the slider in place?

Any help will be appreciated.

thanks,

The slide should have a groove or a pin to allow the slide to go into the tube one way, and will keep it from spinning. Moreover, when installed properly, the half moon shape at the bottom side of the slide should be facing towards the air intake / filter side. Therefore, when you look into the air intake opening of the carb, you should visibly see the half moon shape of the slide.

Typically if the slide is installed backwards, not only will you not see the half moon shape of the slide, the slide will either not slide or seat all the way inside the slide tube Additionally, the cap will be a pita to screw onto the carb and or the slide WILL stick when attempting to twist the throttle.

Should there be a pin inside this carb to guide the slider besides the the screw that opens/closes the slider?

Yes, there should be a small guide pin located near midway within the barrel, which will keep slide from rotating / spinning. If you look at the slide in relation to the half moon shape I described previously, observe the slot / groove down the side of the slide, that should tell you which side of the carb barrel the guide pin should be located.

The pic you provided, it's kinda hard for me to make out, and that my eye sight isn't that great :toothless, I see two extrusions that look like pins. One at the top, which looks like it's the fast idle. the other on the left which may be on the manifold side of the carb. I am not sure if that is the guide pin..... hard to tell.

Looking at one of my carbs (18mm / 50cc), looking down into the barrel and the air intake facing me or down, the guide pin is located on the right side of the barrel / carb. My fast idle screw is on the opposite side of the barrel.

sorry I don't have pix to show, I need batteries for my camera.
