Taze away, Yana...
I this is pretty interesting. Wants 1/4 of a million for it, but still a neat thing.

1977 YAMAHA TT500fuel: gastransmission: manual
This is the motorcycle that was used in the filming of the first two CAPTAIN AMERICA Movies made in the late 70's. REB BROWN was Captain America, and I Gary Davis was his STUNT DOUBLE. It was ridden by both of us. I wheelied this bike across the Folsom Dam, then through the halls and yard of Folsom Prison. I later got to ride on top of the wall, until I eventually jumped it off the top of the prison. When this bike isn't on display at museums, It lives in my shop or in my Living Room. Although I've kept it with me for almost 40 years, I've decided it's time to either put it up for sale or auction this year. If it goes to auction, it will have a reserve of $250,000. So if you know a MARVEL Super Fan, Please let them know. I would expect, it will be someone from Google, or Apple, or someone like that, that will end up with this very Rare collectable movie piece. I'd expect it will end up being in a glass case, as a Bar in some Fan's Home. It's a very special spectacular trophy for someone. Contact Gary Davis

250K that's not history or anything like that its something everyone would want to forget or laugh hysterically at it.

A twenty minute review of a ninety minute movie? You-have-got-to-be-kidding. :rolleyes

No kidding. I skipped around till I found the bike and got the gist of what this $250,000 moto momento represents. Took me less than two minutes. I woulda posted time spots, but fuck that. I gotta pool in the backyard that needed me with a beer in it. Oh, and I'll be hanging onto my cash, but I do have some room on the side yard if Gary needs to rent some storage space. :port

I watched a really old tv show with Captain America awhile back (before the internet was a thing) in it and remember he rode a motorcycle this looks it.

I bet Marvel would pay 250K to make that old TV show disappear. What an embarrassment.

In that photo Capn America looks like he's wearing padded butt cheek pads and a sock in his crotch...not that I'd notice....

That YouTube video was awesome...just goes to show most "Movie Memorabilia" (sp?) is just that...a bad memory...

Like the guy trying to sell the $26 million dollar Bladerunner House...or anyone stupid enough to drop 6 figures on a 60's muscle car...

The whole over paying for memories of my youth will certainly die with the baby-boomers...

Millenials? Think they will buy an original iPhone for memories? Nope...Palm Pilot?...Nope...early 2000's Honda Civic...well...I'll take a white ACURA Integra Type R, but that is a real car...

Actually... the first gen iPhone and IPod are worth more than the latest gen. Not to mention the vintage car world has been turned on its head via millenials jumping head fits into car collection. Hell, a vintage VW buss worth nothing but scrap 10 years ago could be worth tens of thousands with the right crowd.

The millenials with money have changed the vintage market into unobtainium forever.

I had two Acura Integra's, not the Type R. Those cars were built for midgets and too noisy, wind noise from the hatchback.

Sorry, but you're insane if you think classic cars will go anywhere but up in value. Hell, look at the price of old 60's/70's pickups. 5-10 years ago you could pick up a good condition shortbed C10 for a few grand... now people are asking $7500 for rusted, beaten down pieces of crap that need tens of thousands to be roadworthy again.

Let me be clear...some "vintage" stuff will be a good short term investment...but as the baby boomers die off and nostalgia wears off, we'll see there are always pockets of vintage stuff that ...because someone ASKS a lot of money for something doesn't VALUE it at that price...and a few people willing to overpay for something still doesn't set the market price for something. 999 out of 1000 people needing a phone won't buy an original iPhone at any price...as it is not functional anymore. It may turn on, but without updates, current antenna chips and a decent screen or camera, it is just a bad old phone.

Don't ever assume vintage stuff will stay "cool".

Look at the motorcycle market, prices all over the place, but what are SELLING prices? Cafe bike projects? Seems like Craigslist is full them now...going to get top dollar for your modded out CB350? Not right now...maybe I'm wrong...

There are lots and lots of "antique" dealers hoarding stuff hoping for value because something is old...that's not how the world works anymore...most antique dealers I know have gone out of business, both large and small, as old furniture is just that...some of it is cool, but that's usually just the lead paint, formalydahyde, and VOCs seeping into user's bloodstream causing those delusions...

And while I would love a Integra Type R...I remember how tin can and loud and uncomfortable it was...and that's why I would never buy one, let alone overpay for teen memories long forgotten, to be restored.
