So this year will be my first Cannery Row experience (Saturday). I've been to MotoGP races since it came back but never went to Cannery Row. Can ya'll that have done the Cannery Row thing advise when is the best time to head out there? Parking, ...etc etc.

Yes I know it is a zoo and there will lots of people, traffic, cops, squids, noobs, tourists, ...etc. :p

Friday and Saturday nights are crazy...and fun. There are thousands of bikes, and babes...and more bikes and more babes...and oh, did I mention babes...:laughing

Cars are not allowed on Cannery Row after mid-afternoon, bikes only until the streets fill up with parked bikes...come on down and find an empty spot at the curb.

After the bikes fill up, they close the barricades to bikes...unless you are the owner of a Repsol schemed bike on Saturday night...then you can come on down and go to the El Torito parking lot and join the other Repsols at the Saturday night party...5-9PM...:party

We had 40 Repsols last year...expecting more this year...:cool

Security has pics of Repsol bikes so they know what to look for...

If you want to eat, put your name in early as the wait for dinner can be 2 hours...

See you there...RR

Thanks RR! YOu think if I show up around 3ish that I might be early enough? Or should I show up earlier? I want to be able to park my bike on the strip.

You can actually get there later from my experience. Maybe no later than 6 or 7.

Pepper spray?? For reals brah? :laughing How come?

ah well you know, its nice to have when the weenies get outta hand!

:laughing

no seriously, though the last few time i went, it was packed, naturally every other ding-dong and his brother that has nothing to do with bikes will be there.

You should be fine though. For the most part, bike people seem to be self regulating, specifically in that area.

In that general area i can think of couple of restaurants that are decent.

On Lighthouse ave. ( 3 streets away & parallel to cAnnery Row)

Thai Bistro II
Amirs Kabob House. Afgani..good lamb & beef

Best bet is to come early and survey.
