Can someone help me get measurements and weigtht of the 2009 VMAX engine?

I am starting to think this could be a great engine for a little project of mine. What would be the best way to get the engine weight itself (besides buying one!) As for the other specs, it might be time to take the ol' tape measure on a lunch break

With that in mind, and besides buying a wreck, what are the options open to you if you just want the engine?

Pretty sure I read it weighs 730 lbs dry.

In this case, power/weight as well as power/size are the key features I'm looking for. For example, I think a 99-07 Hayabusa engine weighs between 150 and 180 lbs.

Good luck actually getting that motor the way Yamaha is selling that bike... pre-orders, deposits, high price, limited units and assured collectable value.

Given the price, the deposit, and then finally the dealer mark up, I'm not sure new owners will want to wreck it that soon, but something tells me with that much HP on tap they may have little say in the matter! :laughing

couldnt you just contact a dealer and have them look up the parts and ask what the shipping weight would be...Tell them you have a deposit on 2 bikes and you plan on blowing at least one of them up during an epic dyno tuning session.
