Bucket list items

Some people have them, some don't. I have a few absolute bucket list items and then some things "I think would be cool" in my lifetime. Tomorrow I get to check off a major item, the WCWS baby!

Last year we did an Alaskan cruise for the spouse's 40th (Her bucket item)

This year I get to cross off two items off my list:
Women's College World Series in OKC
Week long Motorcycle trip in N. CA and OR

I am particularly excited about the WCWS! I am like out of my mind excited. Of all the sports I played growing up, softball has always been my love. Playing in college was a dream come true, even for the small amount of time I could do it. I never would have dreamed my schedule would allow it because June-Aug we are either transferring or my shipmates are transferring and I have to cover.

I am going with two other softball fans, we all played college ball, and text/call about the games throughout the season. I am losing it with excitement as I am thinking about the games I get to watch over the next 5 days. Now I realize sports are not for everyone but for me, while growing up, they were my everything...year round, didn't care about dating, or anything else for that matter..kind of everything. I will have a permagrin for the next week at least.

So tell me, what bucket list items do you have or about to cross off the list?

Well doc4216, I just love your post! It's like a glass of champagne. Celebratory and effervescent. Your passion, love of the sport, and excitement to not only go, but to share your thoughts with us... well, that's the bubbles! I hope you have a blast!. :teeth

So many things come to mind. Sometime down the line I'd like to see Greece, Istanbul, Egypt, and Nepal. All are right at the top of my list. Right now I'm looking forward to Sicily, Weaverville, Colorado, and New York. :thumbup

Don’t need a list.

If I died right now I don’t know if I’d die happy or just be happy I died.

Thank you! I appreciate that. Sometimes you never know how a thread will go;) I also have some countries (Ireland, England, Italy and Spain) I would like to cross off the list.

That’s okay, not everyone has a list. I hope you are happy, healthy, and safe. Nothing else really matters.

When I was wee very young kid I LOVED baseball. My mom use to bribe me to go the supermarket with her back then by buying me a pack of baseball cards. She went almost every other day back then. I remember sitting and sorting all the cards by team, trying to decipher all the stats on the backs, imagining myself playing some of the positions, and thinking how cool it would be to wear a uniform. I finally got my chance. I think I was maybe 7. I got a hat, shirt and glove and played for the Eagle's, a T-Ball team. I was so excited! But I soon discovered... I SUCKED! I'd injured my left eye badly when I was four and my vision was about 20/200. I struck out at the T damned near Every. Single. Time. I'd throw the ball straight ahead and it'd always go 30 to 45 degrees left or right from where I thought I was aiming. As hard as I tried I never seemed able to get any better. I was crushed. :( That was my one and only season.

That said, I really do enjoy watching players with exceptional skills. Speed, pinpoint accuracy, timing, solid split second decision making. No bat or mitt for me though. Just a beer and dog now. And, as life went on, I found that my gifts were in other places. :laughing

I can relate to your enthusiasm though. Years ago I was on a Pit Crew and really wanted to see the Indianapolis 500. I was able to check that off the list and still have vivid memories of watching the race from AJ Foyt's reserved area in the infield grandstand steps from Gasoline Alley and right in front of the Start/Finish line. I'm guessing the memory you create will be just as vivid! You'd be fun to go to a game with! :thumbup

OMG, I friggin love womens softball and have always wanted to go to OKC for the World Series !!!

I don't know that its a bucketlist bucket list item, but its defintely something I want to do.

Legit bucketlist items are:

Seeing the NHL and MLB Halls of fame
Backpacking through Europe
Skating through the sharkhead at SAP Center
Financial stability enough to have a summer home in the north and south
