Man yesterday was bad up on Skyline. Branches and leaves and logs and actual trees across the road. Bark and branches flying through the air. Still better than rain though, you could dodge between the mess. We had 6 riders and a 8 inch tree fell across the road after the first 3 had gone by but before the second 3 arrived. Also had a rider lowside on Tunitas Creek on a branch after the ride was over.
Surprisingly enough, Hwy 1 was really good. A strong tailwind all the way down to Davenport. Hopefully they'll get things cleaned up.

Several weeks ago I was experiencing 40+ mph winds while riding through the pass on 152 early evening heading back to Fresno. I was really glad to be on a 900lb bike, I would not have wanted to be on a sportbike with those winds on a windy highway.

Funny you say that, every time I've experienced severe crosswinds while riding, I've thought to myself, I'm glad I'm not on my other bike:

On my R3 I was glad I wasn't on my 701 b/c the bike is so tall and light it would be like a leaf in the wind
On my 701 I was glad I wasn't on my R3/R6 b/c the cross section is so small the wind seems to just pass through you
On my R6 I was glad I wasn't on my SV650 because the nimbleness of the sportbike made me feel safer about course correcting in heavy gusts
On my WR250 I was glad I wasn't on my 701 because it was so much lighter and could course correct easier

Eventually I just realized I actually enjoy the experience/thrill/challenge of riding in heavy crosswinds and started being thankful I wasn't towing my 28ft long, 9ft tall sail of a trailer in any of it :laughing

Last time I went riding when it was crazy windy I hit a fat branch on my DRZ... I came flying off the seat and nailed the right rear passenger peg with the underside of my calf right where my boot stops...

Bike was fine of course, I was sore for a few days...
