Anyone else notice this? The major movie offerings use to be $20 for Bluray+DVD+Digital, and now they're $25, and that's just within the last couple of months. Anyone wonder why ppl pirate shit?

The revenue stream of movies: theaters, pay networks (HBO, Showtime, blah blah) early digital rental and purchase ($14 is the usual own price), hard copy (Bluray), internet streaming, sale pricing on hard copy, sale on digital copy and rental, and finally network. An endless fucking money machine.........pretty much.

don't buy it?

ive been vuduing movies as of late, HDX and just wait til there's one i haven't seen that i wanted to thats $5. Ofcourse that means they're probably a few years old but i don't care.

Same goes with in store.

I bought a couple 4k/hdr films for $10 black friday (stlil buy the disc, the vudu stuff isn't supported on my devices), and there's almost always 1 or 2 available for that price. Once again these aren't recent titles.

The bluray packs at frys are usually under 15 even for new movies. Stop going to best buy.

I got my dad’s entire collection of dvds, hd-dvds (yeah remember that failed platform), and blu rays. Must be like almost 1000 movies combined. Not sure what to do with them. Because I doubt I’d ever spin one up, when I can just find something somewhere in my combination of subscriptions to DirecTV, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, and Hulu, or just rent it on iTunes.

Disney gets away with it, because they know parents will gladly pay that ransom to plunk their rugrats down in front of the tv so they can watch it over and over again.

All the premier movie combos were selling for $20 less than 2 months ago, and now they've all jumped to $25. Marvel/Disney started just selling their BluRays for $20 (no combos) when the last Avengers movie went to disc. They're forcing the increase down the consumers throats. That's why I think pirating will go up.

Not sure what picking one movie proves. Probably nothing. Other new releases seem to be 20

And besides, wait a month and they are all like 10 bucks.
