To the gentleman on the Blue BMW that was on 280 North at about 5:00 this evening... First, great bike, man. As time goes on I am developing an appreciation for the brand. I don't know a lot about them, but I believe this one was a 1200RT.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that it was nice riding with ya there for a bit. I think you coulda left me in the dust if you so chose, but you didn't. In fact you even let me take lead! I'm always riding by myself, and it fealt kinda nice to have some company for a change, so to speak.

I don't even know if you are a member here, but if you are, thanks man! :thumbup

Maybe he was looking 4 a competent fellow rider to show the ropes. Many have tried but few have succeeded like you have. :thumbup

Be careful about developing an appreciation for them - the cheapest thing on a BMW is the rider. :laughing

Thanks, guys! High-side, it may be too late already! :laughing I sat on a K1600GT at the IMS and it really wowed me. The K1300 too. Different styles, obviously, but both very impressive. I almost fealt like I was cheating on my FA by playing around with these things. The 1600 really was something.

Years ago my neighbor saw me eyeing his R1150RT and handed me his keys and told me to come back when I was done. After an hours ride over Mt Tam I was hooked. I bought my RT the next weekend. :laughing

I can see why. This one was a great blue like yours, but it had the double headlight, which is what makes me think it was the 1200. I have a feeling that if I ride one the same thing could well happen! No disrepect to my FA, of course...

great looking bike. It looked so different in civilian trim!

The P package gives it a different profile from behind and sides. Slimmer cases, a comm box (taller/longer in place of the rear seat) vs. the civilian removable side cases which makes the bike look different on or off. Also the RT-P weighs about 50 lbs. more, noticeably on the rear section.

Damn, Robbie... you had to post the Concept 6. :drool :laughing
