Rolls with it...
By the time I came of age "musically" the Beatles were already old hat, but to my sister who is 9 years older than me, they were/are gods.... :dunno

I get it, they were a new sound to her, but not to me. I appreciate some of their stuff, mostly, but the only song I ever really stop and listen to is the George Harrison penned "Here Comes the Sun"....

Ringo had the best solo stuff... :laughing

Music is so context dependent, time, place, setting, your mood when you listen to it. There are plenty of bands that I didn't like on the first, second and third listen and then all of sudden I heard it and some of those bands became my favorite.

And for you Beatles nay sayers, y'all need to dim the lights, relax in any way you see fit and listen to the B side of Abby Road all the way through. Gold. And it contains Ringo's only drum solo.:thumbup

The first time I listened to the album Ænima from Tool, I just thought, Meh. And I didn't listen to it again for about 3 months. When a second song from the album hit the radio airwaves, I thought, "I don't remember this". I went back and re-listened to the album... and basically left it on repeat for the next 6 months! lol.

I’m always looking for new good musik. I was recently exposed to BonesUK, but it is not new. The BARF is a good source for new stuff...
And humor. And opinions.

Irecently exposed to BonesUK, but it is not new.

That's the other thing about music, if you haven't heard it, then it is new and I love that. Last time one of the kids came for a visit, I heard the Troggs The Animals and other 60's bands coming from their room and I was like, "when did she discover that?" And then told her to turn it up:laughing

Heard the name, but not any songs until this thread. Reminded me a little of Nick Drake, way more upbeat and easy to listen to than him, but not in the same league as him musically or in emotional connection.

I kind of like their live videos a little more than many of the finished produced versions of their stuff. This version of Creature, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJgrTBFK6yU is one of those I favor. But the basshead in me loves the finished version of Happy, as featured in this fan video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwh_Yxygnk0

You know who I recently 'rediscovered"? Gorillaz! This last year they've released a new set of songs through videos called "Song Machine" here's a couple songs from "Season One" that really kind of showcase the different sound they have.

I like obscure depressing music and none of billie eilish's songs do it for me. Sounds like she's mumbling too.
