Bike wouldn't start...probably the battery?

Rode to work this morning brrrrr It's probably been 2 months since my last ride..

Bike fired right up this morning. YEE!
Got to Coleman Valero in San Jose and gassed up.

Then the Bike wouldn't start. Cranking starter and lights on but wouldn't turn over.

I did try a valliant effort to bump start but didn't have an assistant pusher...

Got a jump from a friend and fired right up.

Probably need a new battery?

I noted that the battery strap had come undone when I pulled off the seat.

How old's the battery? The colder weather (if you can call it that here in Kalifornee) will exasperate any issues caused by tired, old, worn batteries.

Agreed. Check if your bike has known stator issues.

Battery is probably in need of replacement..I believe it's:teeth 7 years old.

Time for a new one.

Are you using a trickle charger? After sitting for 2 months you might have enough juice for one start but not for another without some decent riding time to charge up the battery.

Great point. Need to double check my trickle charger is the auto shut off kind....left the leads set up on the last Superhawk I had so I need to go buy some new ones or search my vast inventory of spare parts bin because I swear I had like 3 sets.

Just buy another quality battery and find your battery pigtails.
