jake is da man.
No, really, seriously.
Discovered that I had a small problem with the spacer that I had machined - it ate itself. So, Jake said no prob, we'll do a steel one.
So I get to his place, and we pull the wheel... and discover that the spacer ate itself, the dust seal, and was about to nosh on a bearing!!
And nobody had parts in stock to replace any of this.
So, what does Jake do? he hauls me down to his shop, we find a dust seal from his stock of industrial hydraulic parts, machine up a new spacer to fit the wheel, cannibalize a bearing out of the wheel of an old gutted project bike he had hiding in the corner of the garage (a fucking Kawi H1, so now my bike has a bit of hooligan bits in her!)... and along the way we got everything aligned, safety-wired... we even bled out and checked the rear brake.
And the bike is SOLID. Redwood was butter smooth.
