Best route back to SF from Tahoe?

I'm in south Lake Tahoe tonight and heading back tomorrow. Just looking for some recommendations. I came here via Lake Shasta so I haven't done any of the potential routes. Thanks!

Depart South Lake via 207. Then go 206 to 88. Depends on what mountain pass you pick for return. 88 back to civilization or divert from 88 to 89, then over the mountains via 4.

Yeah, take 89 and either 4 (good), 88 (better), or 108 (best).

I think I saw you on the s1000r headed west on 108, neat cascade creek around 11. I was on a red ex650 and my friend was right behind me on my VFR in the avatar.

I had so much fun this morning coming back from Tahoe. The afternoon was a write-off (slab hell in the heat) but the ride through the Sierras was awesome!!!

It was the first time me seeing the s1000r in flesh and I didn't recognize the bike till i saw the sideand you were past me. I was also pissed of at the 2 harleydoods that had been holding us up for a while lol.
