Berryessa Condition

Hey all, looking to get up to Lake Berryessa to check out the glory hole... in all it's glory. Most likely route would be:

I-80 to Wooden Valley -> 121 -> 128 -> Pope Canyon -> Perry's Deli

How's the condition of the roads? Looking to avoid roads that are looking like SKyline North of Alice's right now (e.g. covered in mud).

Most of the roads are beautiful right now... Until they're not. You'll come around a turn and find standing water or weepers, and not just a little. Or you'll find the red sand crap, and not a little. Like two racing lines on a supercross track amount of sand and you pick which berm you want to ride.

If you can see the road, it's beautiful.

If you can't, assume it's going to try and kill you.

It's not my fault...
Wooden Valley is nice all the way to 121. Hwy 121, crews were cleaning up dirt/mud in one spot but it was ok. 128 there are some areas as Koi described (2 racing lines). But there wasn't any standing water across the road anymore.

Just know that any blind corner of the road you approach that is covered in shadows is probably dirty, wet, slimy, or beat-up. I've been out there 4x since last week and every day is a guessing game about what's behind the next blind turn.

That said, more rain this weekend means the glory hold spillover isny going anywhere for a while!

It was surprisingly clean last Sunday, especially given the weather. Reiterating the advices above, consider every blind turn a challenge course. There are surprises here and there.
