Bent not broke

Well I went to Home Creepo today for a few cans of corrossion stop. In and out in 5 min. Walking out I notice a certain ugly buell isnt standing proud in the parking lot, the devil is on its side. Did I not put it in gear and it fell over wtf?

A sweaty fellow shows up as I pick it up, the bike has dumped a good 1/4gallon gasoline. Apologizes for knocking the Buell over. Says he can grab his insurance info. I look at my battered old bike and say it will run about 30 to 40$ for a brake lever and thanks for being honest. Guy gives me a hundred and we call it even. He takes off and I notice my front foot rest is gone. Oh well, the psng side fit.

The real story is the front brake lever bent like beckam and didnt break for the third time. I am getting good at straightening this one, cant believe it didnt break. Annealed for straightening tomorrow. Glad guy was stand up.

That was nice of that guy. I love the Buell Blast. I just saw one (yellow) in Martinez and was oogling it. I love the profile -- I just think it's a super cool looking bike. Glad it's ok...

You have the most level headed approach to your bike here on BARF.

Que Sera, Sera.

When a left turner totaled my K75s 13 or so years ago my riding buddy was stunned when I said this standing on the corner waiting for the cops.

"No worries Mark, this is a buying opportunity!" :laughing

If you're straightening that brake lever for the third time, I'd give serious thought to replacing it. That's a part you don't need to have snap when you're hard on the brakes.
