Beach Camping

I wanted to go tent camping sometime next week after the holiday. I checked a few of the popular places to the west and they are booked up.

I recall Half Moon Bay is first come deal, but every time I show up they are full.

Any tips on how to work that one, or another one, or other likely candidates in the woods? A grill or fire pit is desired.
