Be safe out there

Red Power!
Co-worker took this pic today after arriving at the scene. I had just gone through that intersection minutes prior. Apparently moto ran red light and hit wagon. Anyone have any info. I’d at least like to know the rider is ok. Location was right by 101/great america parkway

What an awful scene. Hoping the fact that the impact was at the front the rider has a chance.

Please keep us informed if you hear anything.

Wow... big impact obviously.

I too hope the rider survived. He must be hurt to some extent.
Heal up rider. Wish you the best.

Did your coworker talk to someone to garner the red light info?

Ouch, hopefully the rider isn’t too messed up.

Watch those intersections assuming others aren’t following traffic laws.

I also drove through this horrific intersection yesterday. It is a 3 way "T" intersection and from the orientation of the car, it would seem it was crossing the through lane to make a left turn. Look how impacted the windshield is - must have been very shocking for the driver too (whether at fault or not).

Hope the rider survived, regardless of who is at fault.

I never enter an intersection without seeing who is coming and ensuring that is no threat. Never take your safety for granted.

Yup I'm never first off the line. The very first time I drove on my 16th birthday i got hit by a red light runner so I learned this one early. If the intersection isn't clear, make eye contact with whoever is a threat. If they got illegal tint or otherwise no eye contact assume they will violate your right of way and proceed with caution.

'Be safe out there'. Yep, that's a marvellous idea.

It's a pleasant sentiment. That's more than one can say for your contribution to this thread.

Best wishes to the rider that they're OK--and the driver of the car! Even if they're not hurt, that must be terrifying, not to mention that the car is all banged up.

DucatiHoney the driver is the gal behind the car with black hair and the 100 mile stare. I think she was in shock.

Is there any news of the rider? Looking closely at the photo there are indications of energy absorbing opportunities but I worry about traumatic brain injury.

If the driver is like so many I interviewed when I did this for a living, she is in complete hell right now.

From the looks of it, a rider damned near went through her windshield. I'd probably be in shock, too.

This just happened yesterday. Rider died. Looks to be a combination of way too much speed and a left turning vehicle.
