That's one hell of a drop! Heal up soon Ozy.
Oz 40 years from now when one of your grand-kids falls out of a tree you'll be able to bring them great comfort with "Well, let me tell you about the time I got hit by a van, flew off a freeway overpass and fell on an SUV 40 feet down and crushed it."
Glad to hear he is already on a positive path to full recovery, truly remarkable.
Pretty sure someone can get his bike out for him, but you will need permission signed by him. Not sure the exact process, but with a signed auth and copy of his ID and reg, the tow company should release the bike to someone to take care of it for him.
They don't only care about the money.....you can take them $5000 and they wont release a vehicle to you that is not registered to you.....not without the proper paperwork at least. The tow company might not be liable for any damages to your bike....but they sure are liable if they release your bike to someone that doesn't own it without the reg'd owners permission.
.....last time I had a vehicle at the tow yard I just mailed them the signed title:teeth
That's my project for tomorrow. I'll get whatever paperwork they want from Paul, and then take care of it. Can't have it sitting in some tow yard... and Paul doesn't need to be worrying about it.
I just got off the phone with Paul (Ozymandias) and it IS him. He's in a lot of pain, is in "critical but stable" condition in ICU at SF General. Pelvis, spleen, liver, kidney, shoulder... that was all I got before he had to get off the phone.
Please send all your prayers and healing energy his way... and yes, Paul is a veteran rider with decades of riding experience under his belt, and a good head on his shoulders.
Heal up fast, Paul... hugs!! But very gentle ones...
Will update further when I get more information.
That is fantastic news! arty Thanks for the update.
