BARF on HTTPS(Secure) - Barf keeps getting flagged

Since doing the last OS update Safari will not retain my barf password. I have Barf saved as a homescreen icon. Have never had issues with the password saving but now if I go through the homescreen icon it asks for login each and every time (yes I am clicking remember me). I'm wondering if the "not secure" warning that shows in the address bar is the reason? Though I just noticed on my PC it says the same thing and it saves my login without issue. Anyone else having this issue? Tried deleting the homescreen icon and re-saving- no dice.

The only work around I've found is to go into Safari directly, where the previously opened/logged into barf page will keep me logged in. The homescreen icon refreshes everytime it's used.

Possible Safari is blocking or discarding cookies? BARF uses that to remember you.

Has to do with http and https.

I got this notice from Hostgator for a site I have:

Google's decision to mark non-HTTPS websites "not secure" takes effect soon. So we've created a guide to help you prepare and keep your visitors protected. Simply follow the instructions in our Knowledge Base article and your free SSL certificate will be enabled in no time.

By enabling SSL, your website will be given the HTTPS label-giving your visitors the confidence that you've made their security a priority.

I have an iPhone with the latest OS 11.4.1 and am not having this issue when accessing (Safari) from my home screen, bookmark, or link via email or iMessage. To clarify, I do not have to reenter my password at any time.

I do have a different issue though. The quick reply box isn't there (at the bottom of each page of a thread) anymore.

Thanks for that Bill... that might be a short term fix.

I think I am going to bite the bullet and upgrade to the latest VB package.

Y'all are talking about 4 unrelated issues.

HTTPS is a good thing to implement, but has nothing to do with VB version or remembering passwords.

A VB upgrade is surely wise, but don't count on it to fix any problems noted here.

The missing Quick Reply box sounds like a bug. Check if either the browser or web server is reporting an error when this happens.

Rebekah, check if your shortcut is running Safari in "private mode". You don't want that.

^ This.

I've been meaning to say something but the non-HTTPS connection is a major problem. Its free to set up through letsencrypt or you can usually pay your service provider a few extra dollars a month.

Without HTTPS connection, we are sending our credentials in plain text to your servers which is extremely risky.

The difference is using the home screen shortcut vs. running Safari directly? That's really weird. Maybe try deleting and creating the shortcut again.

Tried. The problem sources from the home screen shortcut refreshing when it's used, and the refreshing deleting the saved login for some reason.

I'm having the same issues but use Chrome - not Safari on my ipad/phone. I also had this just happen on my laptop here at work. I'm always logged in but today, nope. Had to re-enter my shiznit.

BARF blocked

This morning, my personal computers antivirus told me this site is now unsafe and it is blocked. What gives?

The virus company actually got around to reading BARF, and probably blacklisted it after seeing enough of the stuff Tux has been linking.
