Gawd, I know exactly where this happened because I stayed in an apartment right there four doors off Las Ramblas (Carrer Hospital). Dude started at the big plaza where the buses drop off and pick up people from airport. THen he went down the large median in between the vehicle lanes and zig-zagged around, just mowing people down. He finally crashed for good about a block below La Boqueria market..

Of course Trump muttered some stupid thing. Sheeyit.

Las Ramblas itself is just a tourist gawker street, people are there now just to have fun. Really, really sucks.

Not to turn this political, but did you see how quickly that cocksucker condemned this act of terror? Yet he needed to get the facts before condemning the Charlottesville shit?

Cowards. They weren't targeting individuals, people of a particular religion or race. They just killed at random for the sake of killing. Capital punishment, cremate the remains, and send the ashes to the dump. No dignity for their burial.

Yes and no.; They were terrorizing the Western world, but as pointed out, they were just as likely to take out Chinese tourists than Euros in that part of town.

Yes of course, my point was that they are specifically targeting westerners, which is why they did not mow down people filing out of the local mosque.

Lots of people are trying, but ......... how do wipe out a idea that continues to appeal to young people with no value structure? Look at who do these heinous acts. They're almost all young, male, disenfranchised, and wanting to belong to something bigger than themselves. There is no shortage of that group, because they continually replace themselves every generation. That's why I actually agree with shitgibbon about giving Muslims access to our country. I say no. I don't care if it's a .05% of the people that come in that may turn radical, that's .05% that should have never been here in the first place. As we all have seen in the past week, we have our own terrorists willing to kill citizens for their cause. We don't need anymore thank you. Until the Muslim world can bring order to their religion (which they haven't done in centuries) they need to be held in place and vetted with extreme measures of control. Now is not the time in this country to try and deal with another religion hell bent on sending anyone and everyone who isn't them to hell. The Apocalypse can wait as far as I'm concerned.

:rip victims of another hate crime against humanity perpetrated by religious zealotry.

Can anybody make sense of this?
A senior police official in Barcelona has confirmed that regional police troopers have shot and killed the driver of a vehicle that drove through a police checkpoint and struck two officers.

However, Major Josep Lluis Trapero of the Catalonia region's police force says the driver is not thought to have been involved in the van attack that killed 13 people earlier Thursday night.

Trapero says the dead driver "doesn't have any connection with the terrorist attack we are investigating."
