this jungle scene was taken on an in-and-out
exploration of one of the roads above the
High Road north of San Juanico ...
... I'm told the road basically ended in
a riotous oasis where this pic was
taken and that it was a surprising
and unusual contrast to the Baja
deserts we'd been used to ...
... a left for plated dirt-bikes ... KLRs bear right here ... :laughing

... we were provided with a nice tour by the family
that has been living in the area for eight (!) generations ...
I'd never been taken out to the cemetery in the previous
tours I've had ... we made a $500 paseo donation to the mission ...
I think the hot-tub tour was $200 paseos and I forget how
much we paid for our wonderful hot lunch ... :ride
... Mission San Borja is one of my favorite places in Baja ...
we may have tried to camp here overnight if I had not lost
my SPOT and had to return to the area around Las Animas the
next day to try to find the SPOT device ... :rolleyes

I know the feeling. The Baja Almanac is still on my kitchen table, and I'm constantly looking at it for plotting next years stuff.
