hey everyone. just wanted to plug the service at the dianese store here. there was a thread a while back which slammed the return policy, but i just wanted to let you all know that i had absolutely no issues returning a pair of pants which just didn't work out. dan, (dianese dan, on this site) simply said, "if they're not right, they're not right," and gave me a return with no hassle at all.

this store is awesome. if you haven't been then i strongly suggest that you check them out. super nice gear and super nice employees. you might even get a free coffee.

Can't speak about their return policy but their warranty/repair is top knotch! I had a pair of boots replaced free of charge.

i had buttons that fell off and they acutally had buttons there to slap onto the jacket for me.

They wouldn't even TRY and repair my torn glove from the $200 set of carbon fiber knuckle ones. I ended up having them hand sewn by my tailor.

Otherwise I liked their customer service....but I mean, they should be able to order me 1 glove or something.

Yeah but we went through this in my other thread.

You wrecked in the glove. It is one thing if it tore with normal use, it is another to expect someone to replace or repair a product after it has served its purpose.

A leather suit maybe, a glove not so much... I would expect it be replaced after a crash. There is no guarantee it will hold up in another off...

Right, but what about offering to contact the head office and ordering 1 glove or something? That way my replacement cost could be halved. The way they said it was that "absolutely nothing could be done", and yet for $20 I had it fixed. I wasn't asking for a guarantee.

A company that makes gloves should realize that on occasion half a set will be damaged or lost.

Why would repairs to a leather suit be considered ok and not gloves?

I am sure some damages in suits can not be repaired. With gloves I would have trusted their opinion that it couldn't be fixed. Sure your tailor 'fixed' it, but I hope if you need it again it performs like it should.

Gloves come in pairs. They are manufactured in pairs. I have never heard of someone selling just one. I don't consider this bad customer service. Again if it had simply torn and you weren't in a wreck I think the story would have been different. You would probably have two new gloves, or they would have fixed it.

If you wrecked your in your riding pants would you ask them to just replace one leg of the pants if that was all that was damaged?

Whatever it's just the vibe I got from them. They were all excited when I wanted to spend money on a new jacket but not really empathetic regarding the gloves.

Just my experience....

D Store in S.F. is not a leather repair shop. they have no on premise repairmen, cobblers, or tiny elves out in the back shed furiously stitching away.

I'm gonna withdraw my opinion on this one and side with the majority. I received excellent customer service at the D-Store, and won't bring up the experience again regarding the gloves...I guess I had unreasonable expectations.

I just like to argue, but now that you agree with me good. :rofl

No worries man. It's ok if you think they should have replaced the gloves. We just won't agree. :thumbup

Well I don't think they should replace the gloves for free, that's overly demanding...the gloves as noted did their job. It's not like they were shredded, they had 2-3 holes that I felt were in the realm of basic repair job, but as noted, I can see why companies wouldn't want to be liable.
