Apple is suing samsung to the tune of 2.5 billion saying that is the amount they are owed for samsung stealing the Iphone design to make the galaxy phones. Well samsung has hit back releasing documents that show apple stole the Iphone design off a Sony concept.

If that holds up and the case is dismissed I wonder how long till sony files suit against apple :rofl
The article talks about internal apple documents that state
" Apple industrial designer Shin Nishibori was directed to prepare a “Sony-like” design for an Apple phone and then had CAD drawings and a three-dimensional model prepared. Eliminating any doubt about the origin of the design‘s inspiration, Apple‘s internal CAD drawings had the "Sony" name prominently emblazoned on the phone design, as the below images from Apple‘s internal documents show"
The sony concept design that Samsung is referring to

More importantly, Microsoft lost money in a quarter for the first time in its public history. :laughing

Fear me!

that's just some accounting shennanigans

As expected, the company posted a quarterly net loss -- of $492 million -- stemming largely from the $6.2 billion write-down related to its 2007 acquisition of online ad company aQuantive. Also a factor in the results was $540 million in deferred revenue from a Windows 8 upgrade offer the company announced in June.

Adjusting for the write-down and deferred-revenue items, Microsoft had fourth-quarter revenue and earnings per share at $18.60 billion and 73 cents, representing 7 percent and 6 percent increases, respectively, from the previous year.

If things go Samsungs way I'm sure the law suit sony will file against apple for stealing their design will make that 2.5 billion apple wanted look like a slap on the wrist compared to what sony will take them for.

Does anyone actually pay attention to these lawyer vs lawyer laughers?

Did you know that Scottish inventor John Dunlop patented the first pneumatic tires for bicycles, then later had to give up the patent when it was discovered that another Scottish inventor Robert Thomson had already patented it 41 years earlier? :laughing

Bought any Thomson tires lately? :p

It's silly to try to form an opinion based on the details some random internet blogger decided to throw together...but that won't stop me.

Given the details this random person chose to relay under the guise that they were relevant to some point he was attempting to make...what it sounded like to me was some Sony engineer gave an interview and then Apple directed one of their designers to come up with a design based on the verbal description the Sony engineer gave. Thus the Apple designer produced a "Sony-like" design.

What was the point again? The design concept was produced by Apple, not Sony as far as I can tell from the limited skewed perspective information given.

Apple stole from Xerox originally. Why should stealing from Sony be any different? :dunno

And yeah...what Steve said :laughing

Yah and Samsung just "accidentally" deleted all those emails that proved their guilt and refused to provide the court. Lol right. It was an accident...

Apple sold a bunch of iPhones this last quarter but not quite up to expectations. Apple stock declined, investors are not happy.

The race for short-term profit continues...

Where will it all end?
