I see on some forums that this has been done. I was just wondering if anyone in the barf community has done this. I just ordered the parts today and am trying to decide to do it myself or have the shop do it. Was hoping to talk to someone who has done it.

Ask me about my B-1-D
how much were the parts? I have a new xsr900 and really do not notice the slipper in daily riding, but that may be more due to riding style.

good luck with the install, holler if you need help

I am in Merced and would be glad to help out in this.

I have a pretty well quipped shop with all the tools that are needed and it would be a blast to do.

I am thinking about doing this on my FZ09 just because it is so cheap and easy.

I have swapped out clutches and clutch baskets several times in the past.

Parts were $350 probably cheaper online. Since I have to shift with a electric shifter and have to keep the rpms around 3800 minimum on down shifts, I am just looking for a smoother down shifts. Supposldly this will help.

This is a cool offer and has me thinking about it. I would like to do it myself just so I know how it works. But Its been about 15 yrs since I have had a clutch apart and don't have a shop manual. Other possible problem is I got the parts list off the fj/fz 09 forums and not sure I have everything I need.

I was not expecting to do this myself. I figured you could come down and we could do it together.

I have a great workspace and tools and quite a bit of know how of my own.

There is no cost to you either, this is not about money, this is about fun and motorcycles.

I wasn't thinking you would do everything, it's just been so long since I have had a clutch apart, I am not sure I have the knowledge to do it. I guess I need someone to walk me thru it.

Let me know when you want to work on your bike.

Thanks for the offer. I got nervous about doing this, so I have a appointment for Tuesday at a friend's shop in livermore. He is going to do it as long as I got all the right parts. Hopefully I am going to watch while he does it. If I think I can do it, I could come down and help you with yours if you want. Thanks again

I read about this mod a while back but haven't gone after it yet. Would like to see how it turns out for you. Not sure if I need a slipper clutch but would be nice. Knowing it comes stock on a "retro" bike kind of makes me feel short changed a bit
